Original Research Articles
Original Research Articles present new and significant findings from empirical research in tourism, hospitality, and related fields. Submissions must demonstrate methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, and practical relevance. Both quantitative and qualitative research approaches are welcome, including mixed-methods studies. Articles should include a clear research problem, comprehensive literature review, detailed methodology, results, discussion, and conclusions with implications for theory and practice. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. Topics may include but are not limited to destination management, tourist behavior, hospitality operations, sustainable tourism, digital transformation, MICE industry, halal tourism, and emerging trends in the global tourism sector.
Review Articles
Review Articles provide comprehensive, critical, and systematic analyses of existing literature on specific topics within tourism and hospitality studies. This section welcomes systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, scoping reviews, and critical narrative reviews that synthesize current knowledge, identify research gaps, and propose future research directions. Authors should clearly state the review methodology, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and analytical framework used. Review articles are expected to cover a substantial body of literature (minimum 50 references for systematic reviews) and offer novel theoretical insights or conceptual frameworks. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.
Case Studies
Case Studies present in-depth analyses of specific tourism destinations, hospitality establishments, events, policies, or organizational practices. This section aims to bridge theory and practice by examining real-world situations, challenges, and solutions in the tourism and hospitality industry. Case studies should provide rich contextual detail, clear problem identification, analytical discussion using relevant theoretical frameworks, and actionable recommendations or lessons learned. Both successful implementations and instructive failures are welcome. Authors are encouraged to include primary data collection (interviews, observations, documents) to enrich the analysis. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.
Short Communications
Short Communications offer a platform for rapid dissemination of preliminary research findings, pilot studies, methodological innovations, or brief reports on emerging phenomena in tourism and hospitality. This section is ideal for time-sensitive topics, replication studies, negative results of scientific importance, or concise empirical notes that contribute to ongoing scholarly conversations. Submissions should include a brief introduction, methodology, key findings, and discussion of implications. While shorter in length, short communications must maintain scientific rigor and clarity. All submissions undergo an expedited double-blind peer review process to ensure timely publication.
Book Reviews
Book Reviews provide critical evaluations of recently published books (within the last 3 years) relevant to tourism, hospitality, and related disciplines. Reviews should summarize the book's main arguments, assess its strengths and weaknesses, evaluate its contribution to the field, and consider its relevance for researchers, students, and practitioners. Reviewers are encouraged to situate the book within broader scholarly debates and compare it with similar works. Book reviews are subject to editorial review only. Authors interested in reviewing a specific book should contact the Managing Editor with the book details and a brief statement of their qualifications to review the work.
Industry Perspectives
Industry Perspectives provides a platform for tourism and hospitality professionals, policymakers, and practitioners to share insights, experiences, and viewpoints on current industry challenges and opportunities. This section bridges the gap between academic research and professional practice by featuring thought leadership pieces, industry trend analyses, policy commentaries, best practice reports, and reflections on practical applications of research findings. Submissions should be well-argued, evidence-informed, and relevant to both academic and professional audiences. While not subject to formal peer review, all submissions undergo rigorous editorial review to ensure quality and relevance. We particularly welcome contributions from senior industry executives, government officials, and consultants with substantial experience in the tourism and hospitality sector.
